In my 12th standard Math exam, there was this question about an integration. It was the last question and if I answered it correctly, I would score 100%. I had 30 mins left which was ample time. But for some reason, I could not crack it. Finally, when I looked at my watch I had only 10 minutes left! In the next 10 minutes I sat tense, my palms sweating, snatching extra papers frantically from the examiner trying to solve the problem before time was up.
I relived all those emotions again when I saw Inception yesterday. Nolan weaves an intricate puzzle and invites us to join him in cracking it. And what a roller coaster ride!
There is a line in Toy Story 2 - "You can't rush art." So true in the case of Inception. Nolan apparently had been working on the script for 9 to 10 years. Well, the wait was worth it!
Christopher Nolan has proven himself to be the one of the greatest filmmakers of our times!
My only complaint is that in the end, Nolan could have let the totem fall instead of taunting us to decide for ourselves.
